Geoff R. Ryans

As a member of the Firm since 2006 and a partner since 2013, Geoff practises in all areas of labour and employment law. He acts for a wide variety of union and non-union public and private sector clients, including federally-regulated clients. He is notably proficient at handling complex labour and employment issues.

Geoff’s practice has a particular focus on occupational health and safety matters. He has successfully defended employers in numerous occupational health and safety prosecutions.

He has served as counsel in major arbitrations, wrongful dismissal cases, and proceedings before the Human Rights Tribunal. He also frequently leads collective bargaining as the employer’s spokesperson.

Geoff also frequently appears before the Ontario Labour Relations Board representing construction industry clients in section 133 grievances, jurisdictional disputes, related employer/sale of business matters, applications for certification and unfair labour practices.
