Executive Summary
Hina is a Partner in Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP’s Hamilton office. Before joining the firm in September 2017, Hina practiced civil litigation at a boutique litigation law firm in Hamilton.
Hina practices in all areas of employment, labour and human rights law with a particular focus on employment litigation.
Hina has acted on behalf of clients on matters involving all facets of management-side employment law, including human rights and wrongful dismissals. Hina is an accomplished trial lawyer and appears regularly before courts and tribunals including the Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. With a track record of success representing clients in complex workplace disputes, she is known for her sharp legal acumen, zealous advocacy, and client-focused approach.
Hina also has extensive experience in conducting workplace investigations into allegations of harassment, sexual harassment, bullying, discrimination, toxic work environments, human rights violations, and product liability issues. In addition, Hina assists employers in developing systems to ensure compliance with legal and ethical obligations, and creating effective workplace policies and procedures.
Hina has volunteered for a number of non-profit organizations including Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund, Amnesty International, Children’s Aid Society, Big Brothers & Big Sisters (GoGirls Program) and Inasmuch House for Women in Crisis.
Hina previously served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic and a member of the Board of Directors of the Industry Education Council of Hamilton.
