Executive Summary
As a member of the Firm since 2005 and as a partner since 2012, Laura practices exclusively in the area of employment law and labour relations on behalf of management. She advises and represents employers in a variety of industrial and commercial sectors including automotive, retail and logistics.
Laura provides advice and representation to broader public sector employers in health care and community services. She handles wrongful dismissals, human rights, employment standards, grievances, collective bargaining negotiations, and various other labour and employment matters.
Laura enjoys partnering with human resource professionals and operational leaders to help achieve business goals. She’s knowledgeable in the drafting, implementation, and application of employment agreements and employment policies and practices.
Laura regularly speaks at conferences on topics including public health emergencies, workplace violence and harassment, and human rights. She is also frequently retained to deliver training and seminars on a wide range of labour and employee relations issues for human resource professionals and organizational leaders.
Outside of her regular practice, Laura authors and contributes to a number of labour and employment law publications, including the Canadian Human Rights Act - Quick Reference since 2009, and Public Health in the Workplace.
