Robert B. Bayne

Rob has been a partner at Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP since 1996. With decades of experience, he advises employers on the full spectrum of labour and employment law, offering practical and strategic guidance tailored to each client’s needs. Rob works with a diverse range of private sector companies including those in retail, hospitality, manufacturing, logistics, and the sports and entertainment industries. Rob has significant experience managing complex class action litigation and is often called on to provide training to executive groups. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Rob worked in human resources and production management with a manufacturing company in Ontario, giving him perspective that continues to inform his work today.

Rob is an active voice in the legal community, regularly presenting on labour and employment law topics to employer groups, HR professionals, and students at the University of Toronto and other institutions. Rob is a member of the International Bar Association and the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers, and he leads the Firm’s relationship with Advocates for Employers of Canada: a national network of labour and employment law specialists.

Rob serves as one of seven directors on the Board of L&E Global, an international alliance of over 1,750 lawyers across more than 170 offices worldwide, dedicated to supporting employers on workplace law around the globe.
