Executive Summary
Spencer advises employers in both the private and public sectors on all aspects of labour and employment law. He has been involved in collective bargaining, hiring and terminating employees, workplace investigations, drafting employment contracts and policies, and preparing for wrongful dismissal actions and arbitration hearings.
Spencer has developed expertise advising employers on their obligations under federal and provincial privacy and access to information laws. He also drafts key privacy documents, including policies, impact assessments, and breach response protocols. In addition, Spencer assists clients in their responses to freedom of information requests and drafts responses to requesters’ appeals to provincial and federal information and privacy commissioners.
Prior to joining the Firm, Spencer worked as an associate lawyer at a leading management-side labour and employment law boutique in Ottawa.
